Post-secondary education:

From fall 2013 to spring 2014 I taught undergraduate tutorials at the University of Waterloo (UW). Since fall 2014, I have been a teaching assitant for undergraduate and graduate classes, as well as an instructor for Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) workshops at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

Together with a few other grad students at UIC, in the Spring of 2015 I organized the weekly Math and Snacks event for undergrads. It was meant as a very accessible platform for freshmen and sophomores (but certainly interested juniors and seniors as well) to see how math is everywhere, from practical applications to thought experiments. Talks were given by graduate students or post-doctoral fellows.

Primary and secondary education:

I volunteered for a year at the local Pilsen Math Circle, helping students in 6th - 9th grade with math concepts. On the weekends I taught (non-math subjects) for four years at the Chicago Latvian school, to both primary- and secondary-age students. I enjoy teaching, as it helps me understand the concepts better and always keeps me on my toes with new approaches to the same ideas.
